Yep. I used to have one of these.
Livejournal was kind of fun for a while, but it caused too many problems. This whole "online journal" thing is a great idea, until it becomes apparent that the people reading it know you in real life. It sort of cramps your style when you have to defend each update the next day. Too often I thought I was posting the events of a particular day, only to find later that I was actually posting a subtle attack on a noun (of your choice, anything at all probably fits here). I tried to solve this problem of a disconnect in the interpretation of meaningless events by becoming a hermit and associating only with my girlfriend (of the time) and my roommate, but that's quite a lot of work just to maintain an LJ. The inverse solution probably would have provided a better yield, anyway.
I was never really very good at this whole LJ thing, anyway. I wasn't posting as much as I should have, and by the time I got around to penning all of the humorous antics of a hermit, everyone else already knew about them. It's been about a semester since I've posted at all, actually, and I'm only writing this because I wanted to go back and change all of my previous entries to "private." No sense in forgetting about them until I apply for a job and my boss asks whether my college antics befit someone of "good character."
It was fun going through all of the old entries, but also so depressing. I've had some good times with you, LJ, but so many more are better off being forgotten. So long, until I find some combination of the digital and the analog that works for me. Who knows, maybe I'll get a video blog and end up as a stripping cam whore.
As long as you're not interested in giving me a job (of
any kind), ask, and I'll see what I can do about digging up old entries for you.

My AIM is still Tonpole (and will be, as long as I can manage it), or you can facebook me (for those two people who have stumbled upon this over the years, the name on the tip of your tongue is "Jeremy Miranda").
Alternatively, shoot one off to tonpoleatemaildotarizonadotedu (and woot for the bots necessitating that).
